Artist's Comments
Foster Dam is an embankment type earth-fill dam across the South Santiam River near Sweet Home, Oregon, United States. Its primary purpose is flood control but it also provides power, navigation improvement downstream and irrigation. The damming of the river created Foster Reservoir, which is a popular fishing and water sports location. The reservoir stores 28,300 acre-feet. The powerhouse has two generators with a capacity of 20MW.
The dam itself is maintained and watched over by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The fence to the main entrance of the dam is clearly marked as Federal property. Unfortunately I am not that much of a rebel to jump the fence and risk time in prison for trespassing to capture a better photo. HDR from 5 exposures done in the typical way that I process my photos. This one maintains a true tone look in which a lot of the popular HDR effects aren't seen. True tone is the way to go  |
